I need to get out of the habit of equating the two. But in this case, I think it works, since what IQ tracks is mostly school-related intelligence: natural ability to do well on tests.

'Do well on tests'? Which test? If someone does great on a language test but poorly on a math test, that would indicate a difference in ability in _what the test measures_, not just some generic test-taking ability (ability to hold a pencil, fill in scantron forms, etc)
