Hey @TeamYouTube there’s a weird thing I’ve been noticing with the demonitization review system- I’m not notified that a video has been demonetized, therefore “request review” doesn’t happen- instead, I’m only sent “manual review has confirmed it’s not suitable.” (1/2)

In other words and to clarify: there isn’t a process happening for me. The review is happening automatically, without my knowledge. And again, the only email I get is to say “No ads are running, we manually reviewed it, goodbye.”

Thanks for reaching out, will try and clarify: When a video changes from green to yellow by the automated system there is no email notification, but the $ icon is updated in Video Manager. That's where you see "Request review" to appeal the decision if you think it's a mistake.

Gotcha. Thank you for the clarification. Another quick question: I didn’t click on the “request review” button. Neither did my channel manager. And yet I got an email saying I did. Is this a new feature? Automatic reviews?

It's not new! Sorry was still typing the next reply to explain those additional manual reviews (ha! beat us to it) but here's more info on that:https://twitter.com/TeamYouTube/status/1085625399462129664 …
TeamYouTube added,
TeamYouTubeVerified account @TeamYouTubeReplying to @TeamYouTube @illymationWe do send emails for manual reviews - when a creator requests the review AND when the review team checks your videos, even if you don't request it yourself. They routinely review videos to help train and improve the automated system, more info here: https://goo.gl/1rd4Sc1 reply 0 retweets 4 likes
