    The young men who resisted the military draft at received unsympathetic coverage from the Sentinel and were shunned by many of the camp's prisoners. in 1944 the Sentinel rather gleefully published news of their conviction. 1/2

     Even though the Battle of Okinawa officially ended over 76 years ago, this 'Irei no hi' 6/23/21 was the first time for this war survivor to visit the Peace memorial Park and monument.
