For what purpose does taking away verification serve? Are they trying to destroy themselves? Whoever is in charge needs to resign because they clearly have no idea what they're doing.

no idea. but its going to make it so much easier for spam accounts with phishing links to hurt our fans by posting in the comment sections. and theyll look like the youtubers name and have the same pfp. its a mess. this opens up more bad than good.

Do you know any other free video upload/streaming sites? I would follow you there.

Can you explain what's going on, to those of us that don't know what channel verification is please?
-
its the grey check mark on your channel. you can go through the process to be verified when you have reached 100k subs. and it makes it easier to distinguish the real creator from fake accounts. and they are taking that away for some unknown reason.

This is so beyond stupid and it’s like YouTube is rolling out the red carpet for a competitor platform to make them irrelevant
-
Exactly my thought! Wouldn't be a bad thing, either: cutting ties with nosey Google. And tbh, creators in certain categories have been forced off the platform.
