Just now realizing how much of a close call it was in the Senate. Literally seconds. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/inside-capitol-siege/2021/01/09/e3ad3274-5283-11eb-bda4-615aaefd0555_story.html …pic.twitter.com/8P6aPo5aVh

That’s the guy who was arrested in Iowa.
If anyone is unclear as to when to bestow the term “American patriot,” it belongs on a massive commendation pin on this officer’s chest.
Seriously he needs to get some kind of award. Wow.
He led them away from them!!!
He’s moved them in the other direction. Hero !
This officer saved the republic
The officer sort of lead them away? Or just lucky they went that way?
The officer initially scopes out the door, sees it's not guarded, and tries to block the way. More rioters pour up the stairs after them, and the officer seems to go with a new strategy – he shoves the first rioter, pissing him off, and then leads the whole mob the other way.pic.twitter.com/EPmOvDGEEP
I saw this video and it was odd. The officer was basically leading them around and swatting at them and who knows where his backup was. It makes more sense now.
That officer deserves a Medal of Freedom.
