Internship Report presentation in ISTVS for current year 4 Students in DEAM program. Duration of the internship was 2 months - Jun & July 22 and this was achieved during the summer break, Students worked with some INGO, LNGO as well with Ministries of Agricultures.

ISTVS Outreach Program Last week, ISTVS Clinic provided clinical services following a disease outbreak in a pastoral community in the neighborhood of ISTVS. Second year VET students and a lecturer visited the site, treated the sick animals & provided advice on disease containment

1st Departmental meeting (Department of Veterinary medicine) of this Academic year was held on Monday 10 Oct 22 at 4:00 pm in ISTVS staff meeting room with the objectives to discuss matters concerning the disciplinary actions, Exams, Field trips and Thesis.

Introducing tissue culture training at ISTVS ISTVS introduced a course on tissue culture with a long term objective of propagation of endangered plant species in a fragile ecosystem. This allows the use of living organisms, not seeds, to reproduce new plants or plantlets.

A total of 25 students graduated from the program on the 23rd Sept 2022 from the University of Nairobi- comprising 18 and 7students specialising in extension and economic majors respectively.

ISTVS to play a lead role in a Pan Africa Soil project ISTVS has been selected to be the coordination centre for the Somali Ecosystem for the massive ‘Soils4Africa project (2020 – 2024). Its aim/objective is to build an open-access on Soil Information Systems (SIS) for Africa.

ANNUAL ACADEMIC FIELD TRIP FOR ANIMAL HEALTH STUDENTS (YEAR TWO) Year 2 students went for 21 days of academic field trip & visited several areas that are vital for livestock, including Livestock Quarantines, Meat & Milk Markets, Dairy & Poultry Farms and Slaughterhouses.

Yesterday, ISTVS Football club had a match with Hashi baroo football team in Sahil Diaspora Cup at Sheikh Stadium & ISTVS won 1 – 0 The aim of Cup was to raise awareness against domestic violence, drug abuse & illegal immigration of the youth & to create positive change in region

Dr. Amina Husein, ISTVS lecturer, has participated in 2 weeks training at the Bug Picture, Kenya. The training was about sustainable and planet friendly insect farming. Insect farming is a new technology that is gaining great interest in recent years.
