How many countries are willing to do that? Most of the time it doesn’t even come up in the discourse. People just talk about how it’s economically infeasible to “lock down” and there’s no discussion of what government could do to help.

In which case, just say it. Herd immunity = We are killing our poor and marginalised communities. Poor people are dying so you don't have to wear your mask. Great election slogan.
