To give some extra context, Kickstarter doesn't communicate on money raised (by successful projects), but on money pledged (overall). On the "money pledged" metric, 2019 wasn't a record year.

Success ratio is not what I’d pick as the metric for ‘best’. I suspect high success ratio implies lots of safe bets, campaigns launched when the work is already half done, and underbudgeted projects.
