As people search for answers as to why Morrison did it, few #auspol seem prepared to investigate the influence of Pentecostalism, its adoption of Seven Mountains Mandate and its influence on Morrison and the LNP in Government.

a government of climate denialists and/or sociopaths - they’re saying “it’s not as bad as the scientists say so we can open more mines” or “it is as bad as the scientists say but we will open more mines anyway” either way it’s omnicidal and your grandchildren will hate you

In Australia, there are almost ten times as many homes empty (1 million) as there as homeless people (110 thousand). Clearly the problem is NOT one of supply, but HOARDING. #auspol #housing #homelessness

This is why I love science communication and why communicating your research is so important! You may recall not long ago we wrote a paper on Kleptopharmacophagy, a new, but lesser known behaviour where milkweed butterflies apparently gather chemicals from their own caterpillars.

Wow.
Perhaps the most important thing you'll read on twitter, or anywhere else this year.
A thread, with research & evidence, on the deliberate sabotage of government by Scott Morrison and his possé.
His dereliction and disregard is not incompetence.
It's on purpose.

As we face more devastating east-coast floods, much of the commentary on the government’s abandonment of impacted communities has focused on @ScottMorrisonMP’s character & obsession with image management.
I reckon there's more going on - a deliberate wrecking agenda

The Gang-gang Cockatoos returned today! It was a very brief visit, and only this female came close enough for a photo, but any sighting after a long absence is a big relief. I've been worried about them.

With RATs in short supply, there is one big thing you can do to remain safe in shared spaces, particularly indoors - mask up in an N95/P2 respirator. Here's a thread-o of some common brands at the best prices I can find them in stock. I have no affiliation with any of them!

Notoncus ants guard endangered Eltham Copper Butterfly (Paralucia pyrodiscus lucida) caterpillars as they eat Sweet Bursaria (Bursaria spinosa) leaves. In return, they eat the caterpillars’ sugary secretions. A fascinating example of the need to conserve Victoria’s biodiversity.

When this pandemic started to take hold, I knew it would be brutal. But I never imagined that the virus would find itself so many human allies - people who would reject science and argue for a medieval approach, rejecting masks, vaccines, even ventilation - as the devil’s work.

Bogong Moths are smaller than many people realise. They only have a 4-5 cm wingspan, 2.5-3.5 cm long body, and they weigh less than a tic tac! They are often confused for the larger moths below. If you think you see a #BogongMoth, upload a photo to #MothTracker!
