    Sometimes the journey isn’t about getting a few people farther, but about increasing the benefit to all. The 52 years since Apollo have brought more humans to space and more space to us all, not just the cosmos, via robots, but the understanding of our own home.

    I think a lot about the fact that, in 52 years, we've not gone further.

    After 19+ years in the Systems Engineering Division (>18.5 of those in the EDL group) , I'm changing organizations - I'm joining the the Mars Sample Return program office...guess I finally have to learn how to spell something other that E-D-L 😂

    Seal it up and let’s bring it home

    I’ve got it! With better lighting down the sample tube, you can see the rock core I collected is still in there. Up next, I’ll process this sample and seal the tube. Latest images:

    Sometimes, folks ask why we put the dedicated terrain relative navigation computer on the rover - why have the rover carry it around forever? Here’s the answer - AutoNav uses the same computer we used for TRN!

    I’m getting a good feel for driving, and starting to take charge more to find my own way. By mapping while I drive, I may be able to cover up to 5 or 6 times more distance in a day. Good, since there’s so much to get to! More on my “AutoNav” mode:
