Lol, my reading list so far has mimicked the diversity of a Netflix production. 87% male authors, rest female. 87% white, 6.5% brown, 6.5% black. So Toni Morrison is who I'm more inclined to pick up next. She'll be the first black female author that I'll be reading.

As I get past the half way mark of Midnight's children, I'm beginning to feel uneasy about the political position of the protagonist, whose solution to real world problems, is love and peace and mushy arguments about an imagined utopia. Come on boy, get real.

Is democracy also "constructed fiction"? I think as I sip second coffee of the day.
