Wow - this was a quick tweet fired off while I waited for my train. I can't believe how many of you have had flashbacks from dealing with dates. My own nightmare was vast files of vehicle telemetry from a company that didn't understand XML.

I have to deal with this crap at work all the time. People always ask me why I develop systems using the "American" date format. I do my best to let them know about ISO 8601, but it's like shouting into the wind. This helps, sometimes:https://xkcd.com/1179/

Consider this: people who favour MM/DD/YYYY will be allowed to vote today

#4 is the correct choice anyway

Yep, big fan of YYYY/DD/MM* *I have actually come across that. It was an unpleasant surprise.

I assume two of the first three are DD/MM/YYYY and MM/DD/YYYY, but what's the third? DM/MD/YYYY ??
-
I suspect one of them is meant to be zero padded (12/08/2019 vs 12/8/2019) but who knows eh?
