@tom_forsyth Uses interval arithmetic to speed up accept/reject. Nice Unity interface as well. By@ianhorswill2 replies 4 retweets 1 like -

@tom_forsyth@ianhorswill Isn't that exactly what metropolis hasting does?1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

@pkhuong@tom_forsyth It's different in goals from Metropolis Hastings. It's not trying to duplicate a specific distribution.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

@ianhorswill@tom_forsyth Uniform sampling from a set can be seen as duplicating the distribution with density ~ I(x \in set).1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

@pkhuong@tom_forsyth Right. This doesn't sample uniformly; you wouldn't want to use it if you cared about accurately sampling a distrib.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

@ianhorswill@tom_forsyth Ah, I see. When you really want speed and don't particularly care about uniformity.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes
@pkhuong @tom_forsyth Exactly. It's for when you just want some sample and your users aren't going to notice if the sampling is biased.
