(correction: brennan was us homeland security advisor when the scientists were assassinated. tweet should read “while brennan was in obama admin...”. point still stands, obv. he’s critical of the attack because it’s happening during trump admin)
These kind of statements undermine their rhetoric about being non partisan and loyal to their country.

"These assassinations are far different than strikes against terrorist leaders & operatives of groups like al-Qaida & Islamic State, which are not sovereign states. As illegitimate combatants under international law, they can be targeted in order to stop deadly terrorist attacks.
Trump admin and Israel did it to try and scuttle any attempts to rejoin Iran nuclear deal. Brennan is in the right here.
The deal makes no sense at all and is based on the public accepting spurious arguments & the signatories apparently deluding themselves. Do not expect those who understand the dangers to just go along.
