The journey of this campaign is one that many saw as improbable. But Maryland, you believed. You put in the work. And thanks to you, I am humbled to be Maryland’s next governor. What we built together is not just a moment—it is a movement. It is Maryland's time to lead.

Our history is our power. A threat to any history is a threat to all history.
Quote Tweet
Our history is our power. And right now across the country, we are seeing an attempt to hollow out our future by ensuring that anyone who has ever been a part of the American story is wiped away. A threat to any history is a threat to all history.

My mom inspired me and my two sisters to be public servants. Her life was full of challenges, but she never gave up. Mom, you are our matriarch. You are our lioness. You are our guide, you are our blessing. Happy Mother's Day. I love you to the moon and back!

The debt plan recently passed by House Republicans could drastically damage communities throughout Maryland. Hyperpartisanship is not a solution to our problems. I urge members of Congress to meet and create a budget plan that won't put lives at risk.

My guy is back! Tucker had a tough weekend and had to spend the night at the vet (looks like he was having tummy issues). He's back home and happy now, but not as happy as we were welcoming him back home! Love this dude! And thank you to the vet for taking such good care of him!

During National Public Service week and every week, I am committed to elevating a culture of service in our state. And when I signed our SERVE Act into law, Maryland became the first state in the country that will offer a service year option for our young people.

I proclaim today Fallen Heroes Day in the state of Maryland. We honor the service and sacrifice of our police, firefighters, and first responders, all of whom embody true heroism. We are indebted to their life saving acts of courage and we know that their legacies will live on.

Being a hero is about doing something that others aren’t willing to do. It’s going to work every day without the guarantee that you’re going to make it home. The men and women we honor today define heroism. They understood the danger and they raised their hands to serve anyway.

In our first legislative session, I authored 10 bills and we went 10 for 10 passed by the legislature. On our 100th day in office, I’m proud of the action we’ve taken to build a state where we leave no one behind. And we’re just getting started!

Together, President Biden and Vice President Harris have built bridges instead of burning them down, working in a bipartisan manner and leading with empathy, decency, and courage. They're willing to do the work to bring people together. /2

Glad to see the Supreme Court preserve access to mifepristone and not further escalate attacks on reproductive rights across the country. But the battle is far from over. As long as I am Governor, access to abortion care will be protected in Maryland.
