    In that era, they would edit all the rap verses and adlibs out. The weirdest one was Tony Toni Toni “Let’s get down.” The melody/bassline changes when Quik raps, but they would just take his verse off. So it’s silent for 8 bars each verse before Saadiq sings. It was stupid

    Its always bothered me how Commercial Radio cleans up black music. Currently listening to a horribly edited version of The Fugees "Killing Me Softly" where they edited Wyclef's adlibs out. Such a bizarre times we live in.
