I think you're undervaluing other roles by saying this. The definition of the problem, setting the strategy etc should be a joint responsibility of design, product and engineering. Thinking it's just design is just arrogant.

Plus input from customer-facing roles where they hear the voice of your customer 24/7. Support, Customer Success etc. One voice shouldn't drown out others.

So you’re saying that if we get a « make it better » feedback, we should just figure out ourselves the problem ? I don’t think asking for a « why » diminishes the designer responsibility, is it ?
