It’s why I always tell LGBTQ folks to be patient with themselves. We lost a lot of years not being who we were. It’s gonna take a few to finally get there one day. And THATS ok.

I’m now 32 and just ready to be vulnerable and open with a significant other. I was an lgbtq kid growing up in Jersey. There was no dating. There was no being the only open gay In my school. So now as an adult, I’m taking the time to learn me, as a queer person. Take your time

As someone that’s LGBTQ youth in contemporary times, I don’t think I will ever fathom how it must have been to grow up with no queer people to look up to or have open conversations with others that revolved around gender/sex identities. I’m so fortunate to be witnessing

A society that is beginning to focus on LGBTQ people and our own stories and issues. I appreciate the queer individuals from the POC to the trans people to the activists that came before my generation and made queer people visible.

Thank you so much for this reminder, I realllly need to remember this. A co-worker once told me that she sits down & tells her kids every few years that she will love them no matter where they are on the gender &/or sexuality spectrum & I just cried so hard with love for her.
