Don't get me wrong- I think it will interchain operability will happen on Ethereum (with many trust assumptions). I just don't think it's an existing problem which requires an urgent solution.

Limiting yourself to what currently exists is shortsighted. It's more about understanding our current state, the potential future, and not putting up premature roadblocks based in tribalism.
-
Thanks for the speech, but who is putting up any roadblocks? All I said is there is not current demand for such solutions, outside of the groups I mentioned.

Interoperability is a path to scalability, this is the vision behind Polkadot / Sharding.
-
What if L1/L2 scalability (including sharding) and native side chains are the most successful path to scalability for Ethereum? I doubt Ethereum *needs* Polkadot to succeed.

Counter: interoperability is a way to bring private chains one step closer to moving to the Ethereum mainnet
-
Private chain interop doesn’t require interop with other public chains as far as I know.

Everything, no matter how innovative or demanded is bad if it's not on
@ethereum and won't pump our bags. -
Is that what I said? I am saying that there is not significant demand for cross-chain interop solutions from existing Ethereum users at this time. Do you deny this? Is there another source of demand you see, from aside from the many chains who desire to connect to Ethereum?
