The #Uvalde timeline offered by Texas officials right now is gutting. There were 19 police officers in the hallway who made the decision not to break into the room, at the same time children inside were alive and calling 911. One begged “please send police now.”

1am in Kabul. I'm messaging with sources on the ground there. They couldnt get to the airport. They're holed up in what they hope are safe spaces. The city is under curfew. They say it's calm except for some gunfire. Some have been targeted by the Talibs before. Now they wait.

If you did not see reporting from inside the Capitol during yesterday's riots, you missed a new bar being set for journalism. She was calm, clear-eyed, and focused on relaying what she was seeing and hearing to our audience. I'm so proud to call her a colleague.

You taught me so much. You led by example. “When in doubt, duck & file.” You told me I was good enough, even when I wasn’t sure. You let my girls tear apart your home and fed them cookies. You told me my husband was a keeper. (You were always right.) You’re gone too soon, Cokie.

This is incorrect. One of the #DACA requirements is a clean background check, with no felony convictions. There are no "hardened criminals" among DACA recipients.
Quote Tweet
Many of the people in DACA, no longer very young, are far from “angels.” Some are very tough, hardened criminals. President Obama said he had no legal right to sign order, but would anyway. If Supreme Court remedies with overturn, a deal will be made with Dems for them to stay!
