Here’s the thing. I struggle with body positivity. This is my body last year. Then my thyroid just... stopped. And then, today, someone said I looked like Michelle Rodriguez here and I was like daaaaaammmmnnnn I’m so complimented. I’ve been posting a lot of full body shots

Did you know you can be unproblematic and still get acne, wrinkles, and stretch marks? These things are neutral and natural. Connecting them to bad behavior, even as a joke, perpetuates their stigma and corresponding shame. Stop attaching morality to bodies.

Basically what I'm saying here is that the accusations I've been seeing lately and the responses to the accusations don't seem to be helping anyone. It exiles the accuser without giving justice to the victim and providing very little room for actual healing.

I also want to know if they're a repeat offender with little emotional response to their own actions, or if they've confessed to the offense and have taken actionable steps to remedy it. There is a difference between the two but I think Twitter often treats them the same.

I think we also need to discuss appropriate action by our peers when someone is accused of sexual assault. YES, 100%, BELIEVE WOMEN. But don't retaliate by becoming emotionally/verbally abusive yourself. You can't fight abuse with abuse.

I think about that almost every day. And is the kind of guiding principle that I want to carry with me in to a place that I am aware is a conundrum of of the morally gray. Aim High, right?

A guy that was prior enlisted 16 years, after having made several points and listened to others raised his hand again and said, “ I think we should listen to what Moore has to say. After all, she’s the one that reminds us that we are all human.”

The first time that I went through officer training, we had to take ethics classes. Shortly before I left, we were in a classroom discussion, and admittedly I do not remember the exact scenario we were debating. What I do remember is this: One of the other cadets,

Please know, I mean this in all sincerity when I say I want this to be the first step in moving towards being an advocate and a force for change in difficult places. Yes, I want to go to space, but I want to do more. I want to bring a voice of defiant kindness into a harsh space.

This is AWFUL. I want to shame the store for this terrible ableism. They are turning away a paying customer for no rational reason, and creating an unnecessary, needlessly cruel problem.

To all the women looking at their plate of nachos right now and looking back at JLo: It's her ENTIRE JOB to look like that. There is an entire economy around her workouts, diet, chefs, dancing, skin care. Don't blame your nachos. It's okay.

When you call Trump an idiot/moron/stupid/r-word to insult his geography skill deficit, that insult isn't just hurting him. It hurts every person with cognitive deficits. Absolutely critique how he is not qualified for his job. But being less smart isn't what makes someone bad.

I'm not saying Mulan is trans. But that movie was the first story I saw that showed me someone could go from respecting you to hating you based entirely on finding out your assigned sex at birth, and I'm going to sob through this entire movie and doubly so during "Reflection."

When announcers, churches, or any event coordinators say “all rise / please stand up,” during events, it erases the existence of disabled ppl that can’t stand or people with invisible disabilities that might be too fatigued to stand. They should say “please rise, if you can.”

Hi, I’m Black Puerto Rican, queer AND *from Miami* and would like to report: Miami (for me) is exactly like last night’s show—non-Black Latinas profiting off the culture + aesthetic of Black Latinxs with no actual solidarity with Black Latinxs and calling it diversidad.

just remember that I’m comparing myself to myself and coming up short... but I’m changing my attitude to say I’m coming up grateful. Watch for some of this journey here!
