The Peterson takedown in the NYT carries this lesson: It doesn't matter how nice and reasonable you are. If you are perceived as a threat to hegemony of the neoliberal elite, you will be attacked and demonized.

Doesn't matter, it was a lame attempt and won't affect JBP or his fans. They've tried their best. The only missteps that can be made are in the future from JBP himself.

Yup. Just finished reading the NYT piece. Any normal person will either be intrigued or wonder what the big deal is. Moreover, with a popular Patreon & a bestselling book, at this point JBP is profoundly antifragile. As long as he keeps holding frame, there's nothing they can do.

Yep, he's taken blows from the entire Anglospheric combine - the cross-Atlantic cathedral and only gotten stronger. In podcasts, he's also shown awareness of how he would be destroyed by "a single wrong word" so he's hypercareful.

>he's also shown awareness of how he would be destroyed by "a single wrong word" so he's hypercareful I've heard him say that, too, but
@jordanbpeterson has already spoken so many heresies that it would take far more than a "single wrong word" to bring him down now.1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -
It's not the message but the framing, as you know. It's all about selecting your words very carefully. it's why most people can't handle it.

They will still cherry pick to make a person sound like a terrorist.

They've already done the worst there - and got hammered for it. Basically, like Uber, Peterson 'bootstrapped' a maniacal fanbase/audience to cultural cachet, which is not anymore vulnerable to the usual cherry-pick-and-destroy maneuvers.

What they will be looking for now are things that may work - sexual impropriety (unlikely to find any), personal failings with colleagues and neighbors, that sort of thing.

Even if there's no impropriety they can make up one lol.

Yeah but that's more dangerous - making shit up is legally tricky when it's about verifiable EVENTS as opposed to BELIEFS.
