Don't worry, only 'far right' were yelling about this. We can go back to kumbaya.

Cud b complicated though.. I don't know about this episode, but in general the Far Right will not distinguish "good immigrants" from "bad immigrants" for too long.. and there is always the possibility that "gangsters happen to be Pakistanis", w stress on "happen to be", plus..

(again, i know nothing of this episode, just in general terms), numbers can seem huge when counted over 30 years, but how different is X from modern urban norm Y? plus, possibility of sensationalism, exaggeration, scapegoating (as in "childcare sex" scandals in US in 1980s-90s)..

Seems like the opposite of sensationalism in this case..took too long to come out, read the cases - and yes >90% of them ARE Pakistanis. Satanic panic happened in-the-moment like MeToo - it was closer to a 'panic' than a painstaking research account over decades.

And again and again we see 'concern with appearing racist' among the authorities. Yet people keep wondering about the 'crisis of democracy'. The failures are too many and too monumental to ignore at this point.

I am increasingly cynical about the human race as I get older. I expect these failures to create reactions that will lead to more failures. Bigger failures. Kalyug is a one way ratchet.. I also suspect this is just me getting old. Our kids are more hopeful.
