Analyze This! United Steelworkers international president Leo Gerard said, “Trump was able to see the steelworker agenda, what Trump did is what we’ve been fighting for for more than 30 yrs. What makes me sad is we’ve been trying to get Democrats to do this for more than 30 yrs.”

And then Trump tweeted: “The workers who poured their souls into building this great nation were betrayed. But that betrayal is now over." This sent shockwaves through Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Michigan, Wisconsin, states Dems think they’re gonna win back. We shall see.

Democrats don't hate Trump because he is no good. They hate him because he is so good. He is a political nightmare for a sclerotic Democratic party which has no tricks left in its bag of political sorcery. Trump is peeling away their core constituencies. Doing well by doing good.

And MSM people don't hate Trump because they think he is not smart. They hate Trump because they are frustrated by their utter inability to manipulate him or take him down. He is their ultimate nightmare, because their opinion of him doesn't affect any of his decisions -- at all!

In 2018, I think Dems will not be able to win back the Senate. They will most probably win some House seats, whether enough to win back the House is hard to say until we know the actual candidates, but it's possible, even likely. Does that qualify as a wave? I don't think so.

If it's by a large margin. If they just eke out a victory by single digit number of seats, then it's "eye of the beholder" stuff. There's no hard and fast rule. In any case, Democrats will claim a wave even if they win the House by a single seat. And I have no problem if they do.

Maybe, maybe not. Trump is too nimble to be hemmed in so easily. He is perfectly capable of finding legislative initiatives which Democrats will like or will find impossible to oppose politically. That said, Dems will likely overreach (by impeaching), and eventually lose in 2020.

Impeachment will get ugly. Not sure anyone gets out of that unarmed
