one hogwash of an excuse about our dismal human capital - knowledge of any topic of 2nd/3rd year level or above completely missing in these BEngs/BTechs - most of them don't even have class 10 level CS knowledge

And again the problem starts right with the schools - histogram of CBSE practical scores in CS. Looks like we're producing technical geniuses going by this! http://www.thelearningpoint.net/home/random-thoughts/bihar-toppers-vs-cbse-practical-scores …pic.twitter.com/thZHjWEzSb

Even more alarming - wrote about this but hardly anyone pays attention to these pieces of info which are merely one query away (for those in the top who have official access to this data) - kids in many states simply passing class 12 with "convenient combinations"pic.twitter.com/y6xEeo7lyz

True, but even in Humanities/Arts there is very poor quality. Sky is the limit for a grad with good language skills (who is directly employable )

The coming years are very crucial for India. Skills which we neglected to learn and also to teach, will be in demand. The fact: The trainers (sic) too are outdated. It will cost Billions to train the workforce.

Sir I was thinking of biz model of a training institute that teaches 'soft skills' (writing emails, memos, biz comms, presentation etc) as a bridge between university and employer.

frankly - just get the basic reading, writing skills right and all of that will follow. But even the "3 Rs" are a product of long term sweat and toil. Requires a good reading list of books.

That's more ambitious, but starting with memos, emails and presentations is easier and immediately valuable
