Need some decent heuristics to test whether a mutualism isn't a disguised exploitation and vice versa.

A simple one would be to separate out the agents to see if they'd be better or worse off by themselves. Moldbug applies that to US-Israel

I often think of systemic optimizations making graceful degradation impossible. Think of electric cars. A can of gas is portable, tradeable.
