Not exactly though I agree with patron theory. Koch brothers are mostly responsible for libertarian econ, most economists still leftists.

Econ is people who believe mostly in free markets vs. people who are such zealots they think belief in market failure is communism.

They believe in a Keynesian mixed economy with extensive regulation, taxes etc. A slim majority is even for minimum wage increases.

'Mixed economy' seems strong. I can't think of a mainstream economist who advocates for state enterprises or nationalisation.

Until the Berlin Wall fell. And 70s Nixon era obviously had wage and price controls as mainstream policy.
