Because 'war' has connotations, consequences and major reasons, it means one side is right, other is wrong, whereas 'conflict' is small..
'Conflict' is such a soft weasely word. No wonder the thinktank circuit prefers it over 'war'

War is often shown as a problem between someone who is right and the other side which is wrong, conflict is not shown in that way.

I dont think that's true. Nonetheless, 'conflict' does designify. "Oh look at all these conflicts around the world!"

Yup. Conflicts no longer affect us. Take the Sukma tragedy, for instance. Wars grab attention.
