IMO, Sanskrit revival will need to be modelled on Latin; make it's knowledge a qualifier for degrees/Phd

@i_contemplate_ Latin is a little deader than Sanskrit. It's not dead. Millions are learning the language - just not daily usage. -
@_Mauna_ No but we need functional knowledge in Sanskrit to extend our tradition, and bring it forward into the modern world. Not so Latin. -
@_Mauna_ Only hobbyists and some classical scholars are learning Latin. Even learned Catholics now know no Latin. -
@i_contemplate_ Check schools offering Latin. -
@_Mauna_ Mostly seminaries. I talk to Catholics, even Latin mass is now passe. It's not in use to push ideas or scholarship anymore.
