The most underrated and under-discussed phrase in Moldbug's corpus is 'Manipulating procedural outcomes.'

Moldbug's comment on finding this gem: "My entire post—maybe even my entire blog—reduced to three words. If you want to know how you are governed, this is it: you are governed by manipulating procedural outcomes. It’s perfect. It belongs on someone’s tomb."

Whenever you think of procedural shenanigans today - whether it's a district court in Bumfuck, Hawaii blocking the President's immigration order, or your college kangaroo court hanging innocent men out to dry over bogus 'sexual assault' charges - this is what's happening.

Conservatives in the United States can chiefly be identified by their faith in the sanctity of The Procedure. They believe that if they follow The Procedure, they can win.

This is another angle into why conservatives are eternal losers - the Modern Regime rules by MANIPULATING PROCEDURAL OUTCOMES. So you cannot actually count on The Procedure.
Show this thread -
Proceduralist conservatives therefore have a view of, say, The Media, as having A Certain Duty. But that's the legitimacy the cathedral has conferred on it (and the conservatives believe it).

Gamergate saw the sausage made in real time and it shocked many a naive center-left gamer. Here was Procedural Manipulation happening in the open - op-eds written, false news formulated, upon which further 'studies' created by the academic complex, all to paint gamers as monsters

So how does 'Manipulating Procedural Outcomes' actually work? Strap in!
Show this thread -
First, you must actually establish A Procedure. Or you could take over existing workable procedures once you get to power.
Show this thread -
Next, you must keep all the forms of the procedure, but subtly manipulate the substance. The more subtle the manipulation, the better!

For example, let's say that 'Sexual Harassment' is a thing to be prevented (most will agree), and so certain crude/bad actions in the workplace are outlawed.
Show this thread -
Now you can take this existing bunch of statutes and infer that a woman's may feel 'uncomfortable' in a 'hostile work environment' because some dork made a lame joke near the water cooler.
Show this thread -
Hardly any statute is airtight, and if you write the laws as well, then it's easy to be really vague and you've given away the farm. Now, what you have is a political commissar level control over the workplace enabled because you wanted to prevent 'Sexual Harassment'

Now we come to what's in store for our future. Did you see the 'Data & Society' report on 'alternative' and 'radicalizing influence' online?https://datasociety.net/output/alternative-influence/ …

Take a look at the Funding page, lest you think this is some Democratic party organ only.https://datasociety.net/about/#funding
Show this thread -
Even edgier conservatives are dismissing this report as simple agitprop. But it's far, far more than that! Did you look at the list of Funding organizations? MacArthur! Ford! Samsung!
Show this thread -
So what's going on here? Remember 'Manipulating Procedural Outcomes'? Okay, so what you're seeing is part of The Procedure for establishing why certain actions need to be taken, such as deplatforming, defunding, and eventually, FOSTA/SESTA/PATRIOT-like legislation.

How so? Because, well in our 'scientific society,' you first need 'data' and 'evidence.' So, along comes an organization unheard of until recently, lavishly funded by all the elite Foundations, to generously provide you with why Certain People Online are Dangerous.

As you may have noticed, a whole batch of media articles and coverage of the report was then unleashed next, to confer legitimacy and focus the attention of the Sovereign upon this New Menace.

While we speak, there are probably low level functionaries writing draft legislation on 'Combatting Online Extremism'

Again, you get to see the sausage made in real time. But only a few of you - those of you extremely online! Try explaining to normies how this workspic.twitter.com/IlYi6rz8BZ

So now you have an idea of how Manipulating Procedural Outcomes actually works today. The problem is that this manipulation itself is now transparent to us punks - 4channers, Gamergate, Pepe enthusiasts etc.
Show this thread -
So the Procedure is being Manipulated to stop us from noticing and throwing wrenches in the manipulation of other Procedures!
Show this thread -
This also gives us another window into why conservatives are Eternal Losers. If you want to preserve The Procedure, you have to FIGHT LIKE HELL when you see it being manipulated! You cannot restore a Procedure USING the Procedure, or at least the normal, everyday stipulations
Show this thread -
To Restore the Procedure as it was intended to function, requires offensive action possibly outside the scope of the Procedure or at least on the fringes of it. This is what lumpen right-wingers mean when they say 'Conservatives Dont Fight!'
Show this thread -
However, I'm far more cynical than this. In my view (and possibly Moldbug's), The Procedure was always meant to be Manipulated in this way. If any Procedure is unhackable, it is to be removed by the cathedral, as unworkable.
