Which would you prefer: 1. Every religious preacher can say what he/she wants about competing religions (short of direct calls for violence) 2. No preacher can say anything that may be offensive to competing religions? (not a rhetorical Q, I am genuinely curious)

They have full right to preach and Swarajya has full right to report on it. No?

Of course, that would b MY preference. .. I am just asking if that is THEIR stand or they would prefer some sort of strict blasphemy law for all religions? I am just curious (and genuinely unsure of what their position is)

He's merely reiterating what the Christian Apostle Paul wrote about Greek Gods in 1st Corinthians 10:20. If he can be tried for "blasphemy," then consistency dictates that preaching from the Bible also be made illegal, as it is in Saudi Arabia and China

I know. I was just asking what the magazine writer/editor at
@SwarajyaMag regard as the ideal solution? Free speech for all? (obviously including the freedom of Hindu preachers to attack Islam and Christianity) or equal suppression of all?1 reply 0 retweets 3 likes -
My guess is that the latter freedom you mention has never been available to Hindu preachers even in British times so it's not credible to them.

So they would prefer equal suppression? Is that scenario more credible /easier to enforce? It may be..

I don't know if 'prefer' is the word I'd use. It's more just to 'not let those bastards keep getting away with it'. If even First World countries are regressing with speech, it's a very hard norm to enforce in places rife with dubious criminal laws and selective enforcement.
