Soybean production was promoted in India during the 1960s by the Rockefeller foundation - so as to improve 'nutrition' of Indians. As if Indian diet wasn't nutritious enough on its own.

Since Soya is new to India, they marketed it in forms that were similar to traditional Indian foods, like 1. Highly refined soybean oil. 2. Soya chunks - waste product of soya oil making. 3. Soya milk 4. Soya beans - to be cooked like traditional Indian Daal.pic.twitter.com/93zGIv8ANX

Whereas East asians, who have been consuming soya traditionally for the last 5000 years - take it mostly in FERMENTED forms - soy sauce, miso etc. NEVER in the whole form or as oil or chunks or milk. What do they know about soya that we don't ?
