Fair 'nuff. 'Hindu' is not a term the...Hindus created, though 'Hellenist' seems to be a term the Hellenists created to name themselves. Not sure how to think about this.

Yeah, Julian wanted a Hellenist body that could compete with the Church. Having specific names for our traditions and making them into systematic bodies is counter-counter-religion 101, from Julian's Rome to Hindus in Bali.

Now one might argue that this can be overdone, making adherents think in improper terms about the tradition. Or maybe a more diffuse 'guerilla' paradigm, i.e. using decentralization and adaptive variation to one's advantage in maintaining/spreading a tradition, would be best...
