As we have seen The Popular Front became Sovereign after FDR's 1936 reelection campaign and it the Communist led workplace insurgencies of 1937

It is interesting to note that the new Illiberal Turn on America's Left is very much in keeping with how the New Deal 'really' gained power, by occupying factories with a militant minority

We don't here much about the 'communist' period of america's Executive Branch for a number of reasons 1- the anticommunists triumphed completely in the period 1947-1960 and erased domestic communism from its historical memory 2- much of the period was ww2, wartime communism

'triumphed completely' is a bit excessive - the New Deal and the Administrative State still exist and dominate :)
