confidence can be confused with arrogance; knowing the answers and being open-minded to the problem is not mutually exclusive

Yep, but the key word here is: having answers to *all* the questions. Because no one does. And even if we sometimes think we do, we (sometimes) turn out to be wrong when we actually do research with a different segment, in a different market, etc. That's what I was getting at.
