3) Engineering Growth - a newsletter about ethical marketing. How to grow a product without targeted advertising. This one miserably failed, because I had too many things on my shoulders at the same time. Here's a postmortemhttps://www.indiehackers.com/product/drama-free-newsletter/newsletter-post-mortem-what-went-wrong--MGboHPd3hOOhoOhlx1e …

4) Community Finder (early version) A platform to discover online communities, still running on the same domain (http://community-finder.co ) What was not working - ultimately I did not wanted to do ad-based monetization, and marketing a list of communities is hard.

5) Growly - bought the domain, never launched. Tagline: monetize the community with bots (slack, discord, telegram). What was not working - after the user interviews it turned out discovery and engagement is more of a problem then monetization. Also had bad synergy with CF.

6) Hackeranalysis - bought the domain hackeranalysis (at) co. A platform to connect brands and newsletters/communities. What did not work - I started from the brands, but they were not talking to me. I did poor job at interviewing the content creators.

7) Commstats Writing unique reports and researches of different niches. Mainly for VCs. Crunchbase but better :) What did not work - took too much time to produce one report. Got discouraged from a VC that said that "investors don't need data like that".

8) Privacy focused email marketing tool An email marketing tool that is presenting aggregated data about the campaigns. What did not work - had 0 knowledge as developer about how mailservers work and in general. Did not get a validation from marketers that I knew.

9) Community analytics An analytics platform for community managers, that tracks a engagement metrics. What did not work - wanted to facilitate Community Finder for this one, and make the data on the platform available in reports by niche. Still thinking on this one :)

I'd have had a similar list (perhaps longer) if
@ShakhKarina and@bezazazumno would not slap me in the face weekly.
hmm... can we have the "slap in the face" as a premium service perhaps...
Stay strong Anna =] And please poke us 3 if there's anything we can help you with.1 réponse 0 Retweet 1 j'aime -
slap as a service - SaaS
this was a great self reflection some of those did not work because of:
- imposter syndrome,
- scare of what the people will think.
I hope I've grown to more confident self after all :)
Thanks for being around and for the devrel community!1 réponse 0 Retweet 1 j'aime
