And sometimes full system restart help to make such global change on GPU.
Seems to not consume extra resources.
But yeah, 40% is just the back removal + OBS
I understand that the monitor is wired to the Intel gpu, so it cannot bypass it. I have attached eGPU with external monitor to workaround constant mem copy (since intel gpu shares system ram). I like this setup of mine ;-) Portable and cheap

Yes, you should connect to external GPU for benefits. I do like such setup too. You have portability + power of decent PC and comfort at home/workplace.
