What did you end up deciding for doing virtual live events on video?
I tried a huge set of tools and approaches, from boutique to #opensource and still ended up with @discord for our community. Never regretted*

discord works very well for video hosting and moderation. And the video stream can be sent to all the content delivery platforms I wish - twitch, youtube, facebook even linkedin =] Community and event discovery are still problems I am trying to solve though.
