There is only one right answer, and it is: live! — I can go to Youtube if I want recorded stuff. Why would we even arrange conferences, if they’re not live?

People forgive the downgraded video quality if the sound remains good. If you want to chat with the audience during the talk, you must do it live; otherwise, it feels fake—you cannot do two things at the same time. Your presence is why we want to see you, live :)

I am present in the chat while the pre-recorded me is broadcasting. And then I do the live Q&A wearing the same outfit and having the camera from the same angle. Immersive mode

that's said, if I had options for doing it live - I would! Tailoring the talk to the audience, actually reacting to the chat (and not faking it in the recording) makes so much more sense.

and if it wasn't enough, here's me back to the pre-recorded talks advocate mode: conf orgs have goosebumps when I tell them I wanna do it live. They're stressed that the stream/software/internets/etc would work well and nothing breaks. Pre-recorded talk is safer for the orgs.
