The basic ones:
- technical evangelist - extrovert programmer under marketing org
- developer advocate - extrovert programmer under product team
like it? I have more - thread /1
I also have some fun #devrel job titles:
- disaster recovery engineer - a programmer under support
- customer success engineer - a programmer under sales
- technical account manager - a multitalented programmer who responds to all emails
like it? I have more ;-) /2
these all are real and common job titles in #devrel
now upon request:
- solutions architect - an introverted programmer under sales
- tech communicator - a developer evangelist in a startup with no budget for travels/events
Let’s stop using “evangelist” term for that, pleeeeeese!

We had confusion between Evangelist and Advocate roles in our team and landed in a common ground as Developer Relations Engineer under the engineering team.
Mmm. Meaning the role is mostly programming (demo projects, code samples,helping customers with their code)?
