I think it's a gap in education. Devs aren't taught the need to prove the value of their work. Either their work is done or it isn't; that's enough of a success metric. I have a few different sketches of an MBA TL;DR for DevRel drawn up -- just need the time to make it happen!

I learned much of this by shadowing great sales folks of @unity3d back then. But few dev advocates I met have business/sales KPIs nowadays. Is it good or evil?
