All new machines we're building are based on nvme drives with SATA SSDs for heavier storage. Internal HDDs only where faster-than-LAN access to really heavy duty asset libraries is useful. Everything raid0 where possible. Drive bottlenecks need to be gone.
I've been cursing adobe premiere for an hour trying to figure out what's wrong. Then I looked into performance tab. Shit. I haven't edited a video on a machine with hdd since ages ago. Even simple indexing is a drama that clogs the hdd at 60mb/spic.twitter.com/vFCmQCrVaP

well I had my epiphany =] But then also I am not sure what to do about it, when 15 minute video source takes abt 11GB So currently I have hot cache on the system SSD, while all the heavy files are on the slow HDD. Almost works fast.
