June can be considered quite low-season as well, I guess. But on the other point. IMHO the quality/appeal of the event may matter more than a seasonal overflow. Just a matter of priorities for people...
If you aim it at the local industry, any date goes almost. It is just the buy-in from potential sponsors and key speakers that is harder when it competes with a lot. June is also hard, in my experience December, January, July are the only months not much happens. Happy to support
