thanks for being nice. I rarely have a chance to hang out with non-gamedev devrel ppl. So here's a quick one: what's the average life of a dev advocate till the burnout? (my take and many of ppl I've discussed it with agree on 18 months)

18 months sounds about right unfortunately. Things seem to be getting better, but the tech industry overall has some major issues with burnout that often present as someone just “getting tired” with their current job and finding a new company.

It’s obviously worse with DevRel, mostly bc of the “always on” component, mixed with inconsistent leadership and a lack of confusing goals, which can lead to an over abundance of work.
