If you use acoustic telemetry to track aquatic animals you may be interested in our recent paper in outlining a practical method to account for variability in acoustic receiver performance to improve measures of spatial ecology

A red fail light isn't what you want to see when trying to download conductivity loggers. Just got a new shuttle, reinstalled software, and put in new batteries but same problem. Anyone solved this before?

6 receivers successfully retrieved and 5 new receivers deployed. Oceans Research is part of & . Every 3 months, we recover and deploy receivers around the coast of Mossel Bay to monitor and better understand the marine life traveling in and out of our bay.

That awkward moment when you see one of your moorings (with, fingers crossed, an intact receiver) being found by a diver. Is is still moored? Did it move? So many questions... some thoughts?!

Odgovor korisnicima i sljedećem broju korisnika:

This receiver was recovered yesterday after 8 months at sea. The picture on the right was after the sock was removed, no cleaning at all. And on the left you can see what grew on the sock itself. In this same area we sometimes had a hard time to clean them due to biofouling
