Someone needs the sales people @virpus to either have the tech support enable py grub or stop lying about the fact that the customer can choose the kernel. I was told "it's OK as long as yours is Xen compatible". It has been years since the standard kernel has NOT been.
When I buy a "bare metal" server I expect full control of MY kernel. @jdormansteele Isn't that the expectation unless you are extremely lazy? https://twitter.com/iRadioTube/status/1034177315981352962 … @virpus @linuxjournal @linuxfoundation @The_FSF

I gave
@virpus my choice of hostname for the "bare metal" server I ordered, but they ignored that and named it with my email address, which I might NOT choose to share. In 25 years of using services like this, here's a novelty@MalwareJake likewise locked kernel on "bare metal"Show this thread -
I am hoping someone at
@virpus will wake from their slumber and acknowledge the reality here, of misrepresenting a VPS with a locked kernel (version 3.2 ) as a "Bare metal" server of a particular vintage. After dodging this issue on an actual VPS it's time to come clean publicly.Show this thread -
After numerous exchanges in which
@virpus insisted I could have my own#Linux kernel "if it was Xen compatible" but offered NO help I learned they had access to their kernel locked. What kind of bad joke is this? @The_FSF@FreedomBoxFndn I asked to enable py grub and was ignored.Show this thread -
So, we need this fixed or I'll file a complaint with my "method of payment", since you're well on the way to exceeding the 3 days in which I can get a refund. I really prefer you fix it, and be truthful about it.
