1. Fuck you
2. Fuck your guns

This wasn't a gun control issue, this is a mental health issue. Let's not conflate the two please. He was a Vet with PTSD. We need to take better care of the people we send to die for this country.

I have PTSD. Most of my friends have PTSD. A lot of my family has PTSD. Nobody in any of those groups has gone to a bar and killed 12 people. Mental illness makes you more likely to be a victim to gun violence.

That is usually the case but not always. There are always some exceptions. We already have some of he most stringent gun control laws in the country. More control wouldn't have solved this issue. I'm not saying more isn't needed, just that it wouldn't have changed this.

More gun control, in fact, would have changed it. Tighter gun control in other states, tighter requirements for purchasing a firearm in CA. Actual completion of background checks. Removal of the private sale loopholes. Etc, etc, etc.

Cal;ifornia already has comparably the most stringent gun control laws in the country. Anything less that something like Japanese gun control laws would not be as effective as it could be.

funny you mention that because japan has almost never had a mass shooting. i know correlation isn't causation, but i think just this once we can make an exception to that.
