It's not a censorship effort (Telegram was already quite accommodating in that front). It's an anti-privacy one.

Ecuador should take a leaf from Russia they have NEVER silenced you and you are in political asylum status in Russia and probably a Russian citizen as King Julian is an Ecuadorian one
RKN actions are ridiculous, but calling it censorship is not accurate. Telegram is cooperating with governments if they ask to ban certain public channels (that's close to censorship), but they are not willing to give access to private messages.
