It isn’t “a good idea to impeach & try former presidents”. It IS a good idea to impeach & try federal officials who incited an insurrection against members of Congress, putting their lives in danger. That this only applies to members of YOUR party is YOUR problem, not Democrats’.

And don't forget, the impeachment was of a current, sitting president at the time of impeachment. He is a former president at the time of the trial. I think Cornyn is conflating the two concepts. There is no history of impeaching former presidents. Don't buy into his garbage.
