Speilberg toned down the villain from Schindler's List from his true to life Nazi counterpart and critics still thought the character was too over the top to be believed.

As I've said a couple times. I sat next to him during a dinner at SDCC a few years back. I was astounded at how... not bright... he is. I wasn't judgy or unkind about it at the time because that would've been a dick move, but let me say for the record, holy fuck he is stupid.
